Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday instructed the tourism and culture department officials to launch preparations for International Ramayan Mahotasava scheduled to be held in the State next year.

Presiding over a review meeting of tourism and culture department here, Singh approved construction of ‘budget motels’ on public private partnership at two famous religious sites of the State- Ratanpur and Dongargarh for larger benefits of the pilgrims.

Singh directed Tourism and Culture department officials to seek help of Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh for developing Purkhauti Muktangan at Naya Raipur as a vibrant centre for arts and culture.

Those attended the meeting were tourism minister Dayaldas Baghel, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board chairman Santosh Bafna, Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, Principal Secretary Aman Kumar Singh, Secretary Subodh Singh, Finance Secretary Amit Agrawal, Tourism and Culture department special secretary Santosh Mishra and Commissioner Tribal Development Rajesh Sukumar Toppo.
