Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday said that his government was ready to provide the land required for construction of Lord Venkateswara temple in Naya Raipur, the newly formed capital of that State.

After offering prayers with his family members at the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara, Mr. Singh said that he was very pleased when Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) EO D. Sambasiva Rao and member trustee G. Bhanu Prakash Reddy approached him with the proposal of building the temple in Chhattisgarh. On his arrival at the temple, Mr. Singh was accorded a traditional welcome by priests and TTD authorities. “Chhattisgarh CM, in principle, has agreed to provide land in Naya Raipur for construction of the temple,” Mr. Bhanu Prakash Reddy, who is also spokesperson of the BJP State unit, said.
